Support Group
Since our child was diagnosed with Selective Mutism a couple of years ago, we have been unable to find some kind of Support Group anywhere in South Africa.
We've also had great difficulty finding anybody (including professionals) who have personally seen or dealt with this condition who could help us with therapy! (In South Africa).
If there are individuals or families out there who are personally experiencing anxiety, or who has a child or relative with some kind of anxiety disorder i.e. selective mutism or social phobia, please get into contact with us. We would like to add you to our Network Support Database SA - all info kept confidential!
We are looking for moms with SM children in all areas in South Africa who can facilitate and lead get-togethers / support groups in various areas.
Please e-mail us for more information.
Note to Professionals:
If there are any Professionals (medical doctors or physicians, psychologists, psychiatrists, therapists, social workers, speech and language therapists or pathologists, teachers, occupational therapists, researchers, or other health and educational professionals) out there who wish to get involved in any way, even if only with sharing details and information, offering services and treatment, etc. please contact us.
We are currently busy with a database and would like to list you to get the right help for SM sufferers in South Africa!
